Day 37

Liam did great during his surgery. He had arrhythmia issues of course but he was cardioverted back in normal sinus. Blood pressure remained stable and he came back from the OR with no major issues. They put him on a morphine drip again to help with the pain. They did say it is a pretty painful surgery. Everytime the nurses would touch him he would throw a fit. You can tell he is in pain and not happy. Now we wait. They are going to give him 3-5 days to see if his output stops. They are holding his feeds again and started him back on the meds for the chylous output. The pressure on the ventilator went up to but they will wean as tolerated. A few steps back but we hope he takes the leap and excels in all of it. Yesterday they started him on an antibiotic because his sputum culture came back positive for a bacteria. Not surprising for someone to grow bacteria with the ventilator tube being in for so long. Poor guy. But he continues to amaze us. We will continue to pray for better days.
