Day 8

Liam is one week today! His goal today was to sleep and urinate! That is what he did.. He had a very good day! A routine extensive echo was completed and they were very pleased with the results! The pulmonary band is of proper tightness and his gradient of the pulmonary vein is one... This is the pressure behind the vein! Under 3 is satisfactory. When he went in for his second surgery it was 7. Much improvement! The swelling in his face is almost all gone still a lot in his belly but his kidneys are doing its job!! I made it to my first day of not crying! Just total exhaustion.. A huge step for Chris and I tonight we went out to dinner. And we felt pretty guilty about it but we are sitting at his bedside now and no changes happened. It becomes a little easier when we have days like today... Liam had his first book read to him tonight! Froggy goes to the doctor's. He loved it! I added a few things so we could teach him early on that doctors make you better and they are your friends. Never to be afraid of them. A respiratory nurse made our night tonight!! She said that she was told that Liam does not like a lot of stimulation and enjoys his Fortress of Solitude! He can have his Fortress!!! Chris liked her immediately. :)!!
